INTRODUCTION
Welcome, let us explain where you are. We are now One hundred and thirty
million years in the past, in a time which will one day be called The Lower
Cretaceous period.
The location, an area which 130,000,000 years in the future, will form the
southern shores of an group of islands called The British Isles, on the
north-western edge of a much larger land-mass called Europe & Asia. We are
looking at the plants that forested, and the creatures that roamed this
remarkable area. Formed from the contributions, ( some expert and some
knowledgable amateurs) the aim is to provide an informative and interesting
view of the dinosaur remains and other fossils found here on the Isle of
Wight.... the UK's Dinosaur Island.
The information contained within these pages is the combined
knowledge of the contributors and the authors of the material referenced. We
welcome papers and articles which would expand the collective information
contained herein. They need not be formal documents, but please reference any
sources and acknowledge any material used. If it is your own view on some
subject area, please indicate so. Let the site grow to 'sauropodian'
extremes.
